Do you want your cabin to look like new for as long as possible? It is essential to choose a cabin that has a good and proven protective coating. We offer two types of coatings: Active Shield 2.0 and Active Shield – on older models. We wrote more about it in the article: Protective coatings in New Trendy products.
Now let’s answer the question posed in the title.
We must regularly clean the cabin of water and residues from the cosmetics used. After the bath, rinse the windows with lukewarm water, then remove the remaining drops of water with a shower wiper. Use products recommended by manufacturers to wash glass and details. In our case it will be: Product for cleaning shower enclosure. You can also use any other commercially available agents, but those that do not contain: granular cleaning agents, caustic, abrasive substances, acetone, acids, aluminum compounds, chlorine compounds, alcohol, or organic solvents. In shorter terms: gentle cabin cleaners. It is also worth refreshing the protective coating. In our case, we recommend the use of a shower enclosure impregnator with a protective coating. Such action should be applied as soon as we observe a weaker performance of the coating on the glass.
It is worth remembering to regularly lubricate the rollers and hinges with sanitary (technical) petroleum jelly to prolong their life.
Names of shower enclosures with a specific size are given as if their installation was to take place on a classic shower tray (such as acrylic). Therefore, the shower enclosure, which has a certain nominal size of 90 x 90 cm, is designed to fit perfectly on a shower tray with a real size of 90 x 90 cm. As you know, the glass of the shower enclosure does not stand directly on the edge of the shower tray, but is slightly away from it – the glass is set back from the edge of the shower tray by about 1-2 cm. As a result, the size of the cabin counted between the windows is 1-2 cm smaller than the name indicates. When choosing a shower enclosure and determining the dimension of the shower area, when you plan to install on tiles and linear drainage, check the dimension in the product tables. Dimensions A-F in our tables specify the overall dimension of the cabin, so the distance to the outermost mounting elements of the shower enclosure. Dimensions X1 and X2 define the dimensions to the axis of the glass, so they tell you how far the glass will be from the wall.
It should be added that shower enclosure sizes are given in ranges, and this is taken from the cabin adjustment possibilities present in a given model.
We wrote more on this topic in an extensive article: How to avoid errors in measuring the shower area with linear drainage? Information on measurements can also be found in our product catalog.
All our cabins allow installation on acrylic or conglomerate shower trays. In some cases, the minimum width of the edge of the shower tray must be met (Smart collection) For details, please refer to the specific product pages or our catalog. It is important that in unusual shapes, such as pentagonal or quadrant, the shower enclosure fit into the chosen shower trays. Choosing a shower enclosure and shower tray from our offer guarantees a proper fit.
It all depends on individual tastes, needs and possibilities (such as the size of the bathroom, the location of other bathroom fixtures).
Shower enclosures with sliding doors require more frequent cleaning of the raceway on which the rollers move and regular lubrication of the running mechanisms. Hinges require less frequent maintenance.
When making a decision, the ergonomics of the room should be the first consideration, followed by the design of the product.
Each of the cabins in our offer has the option of mounting on tiles and on a shower tray. It is worth knowing that most often the key installation of the cabin is to the wall. Skirting elements can be placed both on tiles and on any type of shower tray.
The basic rule is that the side of the product is defined by the placement of the hinge or the direction in which the door slides – when viewed from the front of the cabin. With the development of the product portfolio and in response to increasingly complex customer needs, this principle is not adequately precise in some cases. To accommodate this, there is a corresponding technical drawing for each product variant, which is available next to each of our product tables on this page and in our product catalog.
Technically, the glass is heating to a temperature of about 600 degrees. C, followed by rapid cooling. Such action changes the properties of the glass, causing a significant increase in its resistance to mechanical damage or thermal shock. In addition, we refer to tempered glass as safety glass because it shatters into very small, not sharp pieces if broken. Every glass pane in our offer is submitted to the process described above, and all our products meet the PN:EN 12150:1 standard.
It should be made clear at the outset that in terms of safety of use, all cabins, regardless of the thickness of the glass used, meet the PN:EN 12150:1 standard, so they are equally safe. Differences are also dictated by the fact that the designs of some cabins either allow only 6 mm glass, due to the maximum possible load on the hinges or rollers, or vice versa, in some cabin designs the minimum possible, are 8 mm glass, to ensure the stability and correct operation of a particular cabin model. In a huge simplification, we can say that if we use a cabin with a glass thickness of 6 mm, we can feel a slight vibration of these glass in some models. In the case of 8 mm glass, the mentioned vibrations will be minimal, and in 10 mm they are practically non-existent. We emphasize that the above sentence is a great simplification of the issue, and everything depends on the model, design and size of the shower enclosure.
